The majority of that starts and ends with Communication.
It is impossible to separate ‘Good’ for individuals from the Constitution, legislation and laws of nations and communities.
Therefore ethics and politics are intimately intertwined.
When ethics and politics are dance partners, Respectful Communication becomes critical.
To speak of human rights is to talk of what’s needed for individuals to have a chance of making lives for themselves.
Lives that by their own and any reasonable standard are good and flourishing. Yet, there are no shortage of folks, politicians, academics and otherwise that think they know best what is ‘flourishing’ for others…
To recognize, protect and enhance rights of individuals — so they can live good and flourishing lives — a ‘state’ must create laws and institutions to carry out these tasks.
Constitutions, legislation, laws of nations — are Structural factors.
The institutions created, enacted and supported, like education, healthcare, family, marriage, etc. — are the Systems that enact these.
